God the Father always gives a perfect gift for man: a gift that is precious and complete (James 1:17). The perfect and precious gift of God for man was His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus was given to man more than just a Savior (Mathew 1:21).

As a Savior, Jesus Christ was given to man to settle the most fundamental and crucial problem of mankind that was ďsin.Ē Jesus Christ redeemed manís sin that man may receive a perfect forgiveness from God and made upright before God so that man shall not receive eternal punishment in Hell but everlasting life with God in Heaven (John 3:16-18).

The redemption of sin liberating man from curse and made man blessed (Galatians 3:13-14). Manís condition has been changed from Godís enemy to become Godís child: the heir of God (Galatians 4:5-7) and the citizen of the Kingdom of God (Philippians 3:20).

Jesus Chris is the greatest gift of God that man can ever receive through faith (John 3:16).

God the Father has given His Son to become an answer for the whole needs of man during his life on earth. Jesus Christ is Godís answer for all and every problems of man. We can see this from the titles that had been given upon Him as Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). From those titles we know that God the Father has given Jesus as the answer for the whole human needs.

The First title is: Wonderful Counselor.

God the Father knew that in their lives on earth man will always encounter with choices: some are easy to choose but other are very difficult and dilemmatic. Whereas our choices will affect our future: successful or failed, safe or fatal, victorious or collapsed, happy or miserable; these all depend upon our decision we choose.

For easy choices we can easily decide it by ourselves: it usually doesnít give significant effect. But for some difficult choices we need to make very careful consideration and sometimes we need advices from people whom we consider as wise and experienced person.

But to find such person who is wise and trustworthy is not easy at all because of manís limitation and questions of oneís integrity. Many leaders were fallen because they had made wrong decisions that caused by wrong advice from their insincere counselors. (Please read the case in 2 Chronicles 22:2-6).

This case was often happened with political leaders. Happy and fortunate are those who have wise and sincere counselors. Wisdom and sincerity are ideal combination that is very difficult to find in this world. There are many smart and cunning advisers in the world, but most of them are untrustworthy.

But for those who would believe in God He has given Jesus Christ as their Wonderful Counselor. Jesus who owns a wisdom that greater than the wisdom of Salomon (Matthew 12:42) and any other wisest person on earth Ė because Jesus is the wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:24) Ė will give His wonderful counsel - the counsel that accurate, wise and perfect Ė for us that we may choose and decide properly (Proverbs 8:1)

Jesus gives a perfect counsel because He is Omniscient God. He can see what we cannot see, and He is able to see the future. That is why His counsel is superior to any other counsel that counselors can give. He gives His counsel only for our goodness, for our welfare, for our fortune and happiness. He gives His counsel in sincerity because He loves us. He has proved His love by giving His life at the cross to redeem us. His ability and sincerity is undoubtedly and unquestionable.

If we follow His counsel then we surely will be successful, fortunate, safe and blithesome. But how does Jesus give His counsel to us, and how we can receive His wonderful counsels?

Christ will always please to give His counsel to those who earnestly seek and need His counsels and intend to do it (Psalms 16:7). The problem of many Christians is they do not seek His counsel. They rather ask manís advice, even from the wicked and the unbelief (Psalms 1:1) that do not fear the Lord. The counsels of the ungodly is often gratifying the ears, logical and satisfy our desires.

Though they want to know Godís counsel, but they do not really want to do it, because it doesnít fit their frame of thinking and their desires which just concern their own interest and do not care about others (Proverbs 1:24).

Christ is always pleased to give His counsels. If we earnestly seek His counsel, He will surely give it (Psalms 32:8 and 73:24).

Christ gives His counsels through the word of God that is written in the Bible (Psalms 119:24), and through the Holy Spiritís enlightenment. Therefore we must read the Bible and meditate it diligently, because anytime, when we are in need, Christ would speak to us through it and gives His counsels. Christ will use Godís words we have put in our heart and mind for counseling and guiding us that we may choose the right way.

The Holy Spirit will teach us and remind us (John 14:26) the exact word for our specific situation that we may decide properly. When we decide according to the word of God, God will make whatever we do prosperous and successful (Psalms 1:3).

When we choose and act according to the word of God, we will experience the reality of the promises of God that contained in Godís words (Psalms 1:2-3). But if we choose to decide and act according to the counsels of the ungodly, we will experience the fate of the wicked and the ungodly; in the beginning it seems that everything is all right, even it seems great, but at the end it brings troubles and misery (Psalms 37:1-2). There is no true success and true happiness in the life of the wicked and ungodly. The true success and happiness is only in the Lord when we follow His steps.

We have the Wonderful Counselor with us: The Lord Jesus Christ. But, the question is whether we earnestly need and seek for His counsels? And, whether we truly intend to do His counsels?

Second: Jesus, the Son of God, is also the Mighty God.

The Son of God is God (John 1:1). He has equality with God the Father (Philippians 2:6). But the Son of God submits to the authority of the Father in total submission (1 Corinthians 15:28) and obeys even unto death (Philippians 2:8), to fulfill the Fatherís will and plan to save man from their sins (Matthew 1:21).

God the Father is well pleased with His Son because the Son has shown His love and obedient (Mark 9:7). Therefore the Father highly exalted Him, and given Him power and authority in Heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18). Jesus, The Son of God is the Mighty God.

In The World the Son of God is Master of everything. He is King of all kings and Lord of all lords (1 Timothy 6:15).

In Heaven the Son of God sits at the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19; Luke 22:69). And God the Father has committed all judgment unto the Son (John 5:22). He has authority to receive those who believe in Him into the Kingdom of Heaven and He also has the power to throw into Hell those who reject to believe in Him (Matthew 10:28). Therefore we should believe in the Son of God and accept Him as Lord and Savior that we may not perish but receive the forgiveness of sin and everlasting life in Heaven (John 3:16-18).

On earth the Son of God has power and authority over everything. There is nothing impossible with Him. But for us who live on earth not everything we can handle with our own strength and ability. There are many things beyond our ability to reach and handle it. Those things become impossible things for us as human. But if we believe in the Son of God as Lord over our entire life Ė living in submission and obedient to Him Ė then Jesus, the Mighty God will do the impossible things for our sake so everything become possible for us who believe (Mark 9:23, Matthew 17:20).

When we encounter the dead end and all the doors are shut for us, then we can lift up our head toward Heaven and looking unto Jesus, the Mighty God, who will open the miraculous way for us, because He Himself is the way.

If we are harassed by the Devil, then we can resist him, and he will flee from us (James 4:7). Jesus, the Mighty God will defend and protect us. If the Devil fled he will take away with him all the troubles that he has put in our life, because he actually is the troublemaker. †

The Third: Jesus is the Everlasting Father

A father is a main pillar of the family. He is the leader who takes responsibility upon his family. Father is the one who takes care, provides, teaches, protects and defends his children.

In general the condition of a father will affect the life of the children: whether he is a good, wise and capable father, or he is a poor, unwise and mean. If the children have a good and capable father, they will be well cared. But if the father is bad and poor, the children will be suffered because of their own father. But even if we have a good, rich and wise father, one day he will become old, weak and sickly. †††

There are also some unlucky children. They do not know their father because their father has left them. Some have a poor father, physically or economically, and unqualified father because of their bad character.

But whatever our situation as a child and the condition of our father, in Jesus, we have the Everlasting Father, who will never become old, weak nor forsake us. Jesus, the Mighty God, is also the Everlasting Father for those who believe in Him (2 Corinthians 6:18).

Even if we donít fortunate as a child because of our poor father, but we still have a hope that our misfortune will be changed if Jesus becoming our Father and we become His children through faith in Him (John 1:12).

As the Everlasting Father, Jesus will give everything that cannot be given by our earthly father. He will provide everything we need (Philippians 4:19) abundantly because He is rich. All the riches of the world are belong to Him (Haggai 2:8).

As our Father, He will arrange our life perfectly for the benefit and goodness of us, His children (Romans 8:28). His defense and protection are upon us (Romans 8:31-34) and are reliable (Psalms 46:2). His help will come at the right time: never too early and never late.

We are fortunate people for having Jesus as our Everlasting Father. He exhorts us with tenderness through His words that speak within our conscience (Psalms 16:7). As the Father, he also disciplines us with love and compassion (Hebrews 12:5-11; Lamentations 3:31-32). He forgives our sins and has mercy on us when we fall, and return to him with contrition. He rejoices when He sees His children repent from their sins; He will receive them back as His dear children (Luke 15:11-32). He is really our Father.

We thank God for giving Christ as our Everlasting Father. Let us love Him and do His will and commandments (John 14:15). The question is whether we really live, as His children by doing His will and commandments (Matthew 7:21). Only those who do the Fatherís will are worthy to be called Godís children. Only those who do His commandments will experience and enjoy the loving-kindness of the Everlasting Father. The Father will do our requests when we do His will (Psalms 145:19).

But if we live as disobedient children, we are not worthy to be called His children and claim our rights. Grace is given by faith and enjoyed through obedience.

Fourth: Jesus is the Prince of Peace

As a Prince, Jesus is the King (John 18:37). His dominion is called as the Kingdom of God. The believers who submit to Jesus and obey the Law of the Kingdom are the citizens of the Kingdom of God (2 Thessalonians 1:5). The Scriptures consist of the Law of The Kingdom of God, which speak about righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17).

One day the Kingdom of God will reign in the world, and the world will enter into the actual peace (Micah 4:1-3), because Jesus, the Prince of Peace, will rule over the earth as the King together with His saints (2 Timothy 2:12, Revelation 11:17).

When we live according to the principles and the Law of the Kingdom we will enjoy all the glory and the goodness of the Kingdom of God, because we are the true citizens of the Kingdom of God.

If we live according to the Law of the Kingdom, though we are still living in the world, we can enjoy on earth the privileges as the citizens of the Kingdom of God. What are our privileges?

We have privilege for defense and protection from Jesus, our King. He will order His angels to protect and defend us, at any time, in the midst of this wicked world (Psalms 34:8 and 91:11). Without our knowledge, Jesus Ė who is able to call 12 legions of angels (Matthew 26:53) Ė will command His angels to protect and defend us.

This was what happened with Elisha when the army besieged him (2 Kings 6:15-17); with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego when they were thrown into the midst of the burning fiery furnace (Daniel 3:24-26); with Daniel when he was cast into the den of lions (Daniel 6:23), and with Godís children when they are confronted with dangers.†

The name of Jesus is very powerful because Jesus is the Mighty God and King of all kings. When we mention the name of Jesus with reverence, faith and obedient, there will be power flowing out from the throne of God. The hosts of Heaven will move to protect and defend Godís children. They will encamp round about them that fear the Lord and deliver them (Psalms 34:7). Knowing all these things, we will be peaceful because we know we are safe. And this is all because Jesus is The Prince of Peace.

Furthermore, Jesus, the Prince of Peace has given us His own peace (John 14:27): the peace that beyond human understanding, to guard our heart and mind (Philippians 4:7).

As the royal citizens of the Kingdom of God we have privilege to have a different lot from the unrighteous people of the world (Malachi 3:17-18). Though we are living in the same planet, God will spare His children from the fate that fall upon the ungodly. Remember how God spared His people in Egypt during the plagues (Exodus 8:22; 9:26). Knowing this will also gives us peace.

Whatever situation of this world will not affect the Kingdom of God, because the Kingdom of God is the kingdom that cannot be shaken (Hebrews 12:28). And we have received this unshaken Kingdom, because Jesus is our Prince of Peace.

To experience peace on earth we must live in righteousness. Righteousness is the principle and the value of the Kingdom of God. If we live in righteousness then we will have peace, which will lead us further to a joyful life (Romans 14:17). But if we live in unrighteousness, we will have no peace of mind. Instead we will feel guilty, fear, unrest, shame and unworthy.

Some people try to buy joy and happiness with their money. They will buy anything that can give them peaceful mind and happiness. But what they got was not a real peace and joy but only artificial one. This artificial joy and happiness will only last for a short time and after that it will create great emptiness within.

But thank God for giving us Jesus as our Prince of Peace: the Source of true happiness and peace of mind, for those who live according to the Law of the Kingdom of God. Jesus will give us peace beyond human understanding, even in the midst of worldís crisis. Therefore, peace on earth is only for those who are pleasing Godís heart (Luke 2:14). Meanwhile for those who live in wickedness, there is no peace for them on earth.

Whatsoever happened with the world, if we live as the citizen of the Kingdom of God, then we can enjoy and experience the Kingdom of God on earth. Though the world is under economical crisis, the citizen of the Kingdom will live in sufficiency, even in abundant so we can help other people that need help (2 Corinthians 9:8).

This privileges that we receive, will make us different from the unbelief. There will be vast difference between the believers and the unbelievers; between those who obey and those who not; between those who earnestly live for God and those who not (Malachi 3:18). And we will become like a shinning stars in the midst of the darkness of the world (Philippians 2:15). Our testimony will attract people to come to the Lord (Isaiah 60:2-3) and receive Christ as Lord and Savior and be saved.

So what is lack in Jesus, the perfect gift of God for us? Is not all of our needs have been completely provided in Jesus? Jesus is everything for us. To have Jesus is to have everything: all are fulfilled in Him. Let us live only for Him! Jesus is the perfect gift of God for all mankind!
